Family

Married in faith is not always married in law.

Marriage, divorce, wills and inheritance work differently in Islam and in English law. We help you get both right, in one conversation.

Where to start

What’s happening?

Marriage & Nikah

We’re getting married

Does a nikah on its own protect you? Nikah, civil marriage and the mahr, in the right order.

Marriage & Nikah

Divorce & Separation

A marriage is ending

Talaq, khula and civil divorce are separate. Finishing one does not finish the other.

Divorce & Separation

Wills & Inheritance

We want a will

A will that follows Faraid and is valid in England. Without one, English law decides who inherits.

Wills & Inheritance · Faraid

Worth knowing

Three things people find out too late.

  • A nikah alone does not make you married in English law.
  • A court divorce does not end your nikah. A talaq does not end your civil marriage.
  • Without an English will, English law decides who inherits. It does not follow Faraid.

We check both sides for you, so nothing is left to chance. Where regulated legal services are required, these are provided by our partner SRA-regulated law firm.
